I get asked this almost daily by SME owners: "I installed an app on cell phones so staff can clock in and out, is that valid or will I get fined?". The doubt is legitimate, because for years the fingerprint or card timeclock was the "serious" way, and an app sounds improvised. Spoiler: the app can be just as valid as the wall-mounted timeclock, or more so. What decides it isn't the device, it's something else.
