A workshop owner asked me recently if he could ask his staff for "one extra hour every day, just while the high season lasts." I did the math for him right there: one hour a day from Monday to Saturday is six hours. Within the limit, yes. The problem was the "just while the season lasts" part. That phrase is what gets employers into trouble. The extraordinary workday has a ceiling and the law states it with numbers, not good intentions.
